I have been following the 700nHz auction at http://wireless.fcc.gov/auctions/default.htm?job=auction_summary&id=73
for a while now, and I am getting anxious.
Block C, the 50 state package, met its reserve price of $4,637,854,000
in round 17 with a bid of $4,713,823,000.
Round 124 opens tomorrow and Block C has not had a bid since round
17. The rules are very complex, but, as
I understand it, there is no way another company could submit a bid on the 50 state package. Rules do not permit any company to comment on
their bidding until the close of the auction, which seems to be drawing near. In round 123, new bids were only placed on 26
of the 1102 packages. I am anxious to
know who the winner of Block C is, and what they intend to do with
their licenses.
