    fcc rules for SNG uplinks

    Is there a specific FCC regulation that requires an engineer to be physically present in a KU truck during the length of his uplink transmission, beginning to end?

    Yes It's located in Part 25 of Title 47 of the Code of Federal Regulations. it can be downloaded at The National Archives and Records Administration. (www.access.gpo.gov/nara). Essentially someone has to "man" the TX so to that extent yes; however, if the TX is operated via remote control that the truck operator is given or from a computer at the TOC then "NO" Tom Cassidy Chief Photographer WPIX-TV
