Trying to pick a cable... and as always, budget is an issue.
I need to carry up to 200 ft. of 1080i Analog HD component, which runs anywhere between 22 and 37 MHz (nowhere near the SDI bandwidths, at least). Looking at attenuation at 74MHz, it seems to come down to one of these options:
Gepco VB1460: 14AWG copper-clad steel,
1.2 dB/100ft.loss at 74MHz
max return loss: >20dB at 455MHz
condc. DCR per Mft.:14.3Ω
Gepco VSD2001: 18AWG copper
1.6 dB/100ft.loss at 74MHz
max return loss: >23dB at 1GHz
condc. DCR per Mft.:6.4Ω
Googling these models will get you the full specs.
It's for permanent installation inside the wall, so I'm not concerned about flexibility. I'm lured by the lower cost and lower loss of the copper-clad, but am unsure how the other parameters are gonna affect the signal. Of course 14AWG copper would be ideal, but its costs are almost out of the question.
Any thoughts?
